A "Romantic Suspense" excerpt from RUNNING ON EMPTY:
All the way to Justice's house, I concentrated on my breathing and rehearsed my lines.
When he came to the door wearing only a pair of worn out jeans, my lines slipped off my tongue and into the mud beneath my tennis shoes. As hard as I tried, my eyes could not help but sweep across the well-defined chest and abs in front of me. Dammit.
One side of his mouth pulled up as he inched the door open wider. "Wow, this might me the fastest apology from you ever."
"I didn't come here to apologize." I eased past him through the doorway to stand on the kitchen rug, because suddenly the air was humid and sweltering and I needed some AC. Stat. "I came to ask a favor."
His green eyes narrowed. "Seems like the two should go together--apology first, favor second."
I tried to ignore the scent of Irish Spring wafting off his body and reached in my back pocket for the money. "Could you please pick up a carton of cigarettes and a bag of red Twizzlers for Billi Jo?"
He held out his hand to accept, and when I placed the money in it, he wrapped his fingers around mine. His touch was gentle and warm, and it made my stomach weak. I looked up into his eyes and read his expression and saw that he was no longer teasing. "River, we need to talk."
My heart pounded in my ears so loud I could barely distinguish it from the knock at the door.
With his finger to his lips, Justice stepped over to the kitchen window and brushed back the curtain enough to reveal a cop car sitting in the driveway. The blood drained out of my face and my hands started to tremble.
"Just a minute," Justice called out to the officer, and then pointed for me to hide in the laundry closet.
Right now, ROE is only $2.99 on Kindle, $9.95 ppbk. on Amazon!:)

Last minute GIFT idea? Excerpt from ROE...
Right now, RUNNING ON EMPTY (YA Romantic Suspense) is only $2.99 on Kindle, $9.61 ppbk!

Justice made me dance-barefoot-in-the-grass happy, and lightening-storm angry--sometimes all within the same minute. He made me stand-on-the-edge-of-a-cliff fearless, can't-sleep-at-night restless, and coming-out-of-my-skin stupid. And for those reasons, I knew it was safer to keep a distance.
I started to splash water in his face, but he reached out, caught my arm, and pulled me toward him. Even in the cool water, I could feel his body heat as he drew me closer. When his smile faded and his moss-green eyes became serious, my heart pounded wildly. This was not what I wanted. I mean, I did, but it wasn't what was best for him--for either of us. Not now; not when everything was still up in the air.
Don't ruin it, Justice. It will only complicate things.
When he cupped my face, my breath went shallow and my body melted. Who was I kidding? This was exactly what I wanted. I panicked, then relaxed and closed my eyes.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!! :)

2 EPIC Multi-Author Rafflecopter Giveaways!!!
Yay! RUNNING ON EMPTY is included in two HUGE giveaways!
Quick excerpt from ROE:
"Thanks, Justice...for everything."
Smiling, he reached out, briefly cupping my face in his hands as he looked at me as if he couldn't believe I was standing in front of him. His thumbs grazed my cheeks and paused at the corner of my lips just long enough to make my heart stop. He gathered me tight in his arms, and when his grip loosened, I resisted the urge to cling tighter and beg him not to leave.
My head said it was wrong. My heart said it was right.
Stupid heart.

RELEASE DATE for Book Two!
It's official: The release date for TEMPORARY HIGH is May 26! :)
Don't forget to add TH to your goodreads shelf:

Excerpt from Chapter one:
The side of his mouth quirked up as he studied me. "I think I might be fallin' in love."
I picked up the keys off the bedside table and tossed them to him. "That makes one of us."
He clutched at his heart in mock pain. Then his perfect red lips formed the word, "Liar."
I took one last draw off his cigarette and delighted in its sizzle when I deposited it into a near-empty bottle of water. Then I followed him down a set of groaning wooden steps that led to the garage where he kept his bike.

Hard as I tried, I couldn't deny that I loved everything about the time I spent with Luca. I loved the way he pushed his hair back into a ponytail before he slid onto his motorcycle, the way his black t-shirt hugged his biceps, partially concealing the tattoo wrapped around his left one. I loved the feel of my wrists resting against the worn fabric of his blue jeans, and the wind whipping through my hair as the bike accelerated.
But most of all, I loved the smooth purr his Harley Davidson made right before he sent it exploding down the highway--the two of us becoming one with that beautiful, powerful machine. Everything about those moments with him signified power, risk, escape, and freedom. And those were the things I lived for.

The HELL YES!!!
I'm really looking forward to the signing today. For me, this moment won't be about how many people show up or how many books I may or may not sign. It's about what signing at a Barnes & freaking Noble symbolizes. It's about all those times I stood in that store or other bookstores or libraries, found the YA section and alphabetically where my book would be placed, and envisioned that someday... someday I would have a book on those shelves.
Today will symbolize that journey; all the hard work, the years of blind faith, determination, and desire it took to get there. All the rejection letters and the close calls, the nos and the Hell nos. This moment will symbolize the YES! I mean the HELL YES!!!!
